Myth #1: Most abortions happen because of rape, incest, maternal health or birth defects

Fact: 97% of abortions are performed for social or economic reasons. Only 3% are due to rape or incest, maternal health or birth defects.

Myth #2: Access to abortion helps racial minorities

Fact: Abortion targets minority communities. If 28% of black babies are aborted while only 10% of white babes are aborted, the minority population is shrinking.

Myth #3: The fetus is just a clump of cells that are part of the mother’s body.

Fact: The unborn child has his or hers own genetic code from day one and is defined by scientists as a distinct organism.

Myth #4: Planned Parenthood doesn’t focus on abortions

Fact: Planned Parenthood makes $583,350 everyday from abortions. (Approximately $600 per abortion = 972.25 abortions per day)

Myth #5: The use of contraception decreases the number of abortions

Fact: Contraceptive increases the rate of promiscuity giving the false security of safe sex without risk of pregnancy.  Increased unintended pregnancies increase abortion.

Myth #6: Planned Parenthood often provides prenatal care and adoption referrals, and only some abortions

Fact: 97% of pregnant clients at Planned Parenthood receive abortions.

Myth #7: Aborting children from poor families saves society the cost of supporting them

Fact: Every abortion costs society approximately $4,983,298 in lost taxes and spending.

Fact: The year before Roe v Wade abortion was only 65 maternal deaths. It s more than 4254% common to die in a house fire

Myth #9: Abortion can save a woman’s life

Fact: A woman whose life is in danger may need a medical procedure that kills her baby as a side effect. But doctors agree that direct abortion is never necessary to save a woman’s life.
